Supporting Someone to a Recovered Life: Understanding the Levels of Care and the Support to Provide
PRESENTER: Samantha Peterson, MA, LCPC, CADC
DETAILS: This presentation will consistent of descriptions of each level of care for treating eating disorders. Within each level of care the presentation will discuss what criteria is used to identify if someone needs that level of care along with what support is needed by the treatment team and loved ones.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify and explain each level of care associated with eating disorder treatment.
2. Discuss how to provide support at each level of care.
3. Identify the criteria for which level of care is appropriate based on current presenting behaviors.
4. Explain the treatment interfering behaviors that arise within each level of care and how to support through the behavior.

Applying the DBT Consultation Agreements in the Treatment of Eating Disorders
PRESENTER: Gregory Holich, MS LCPC
DETAILS: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based approach using a comprehensive approach to help individuals through mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness strategies. In addition to weekly group skills training, individual therapy, and coaching session, DBT emphasizes the importance of peer consultation for clinicians. This presentation will review the varying facets of the DBT Consultation Agreements and ways clinicians can utilize these concepts to inform their work with clients as well as colleagues.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Explain one example of using a DBT Consultation Agreement to inform clinical interventions and
treatment planning.
2. Describe how to conceptualize a case through a Dialectical framework.
3. Describe examples in which therapists and clients may engage in “therapy interfering behaviors.”

MEET THE SPEAKERS

Samantha Peterson, MA, LCPC, CADC, Regional Director of Monte Nido and Affiliates

Sam has been with Monte Nido and Affiliates for over 2 years. While in her time there, she has helped open two adolescent programs in the Chicago and St. Louis area and has served as the Clinical Director for the Naperville location. Through her career she has worked in residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient with clients who struggle with primary eating disorder, substance use, and other mental health conditions. Sam is EMDR Trained and working to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. She is passionate about helping individuals and their families live meaningful lives.

Gregory Holich, MS LCPC, Assistant Clinical Director of Clementine Naperville
Greg is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the Assistant Clinical Director at Clementine Programs, with nearly 15 years of experience working in the field of eating disorders. He received his Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University. He has worked with individuals in a variety of settings, including group homes, psychiatric nursing homes, and residential facilities in various clinical and leadership roles. Aside from his specialty in eating disorders, Greg is passionate about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has presented on this topic at national presentations over the years.
